T-shirts - pretty simple piece of clothing I thought but seems I was a bit wrong.
But then as Mrs Awkward now gets out what clothes I’ve to wear each day as she says I can’t be trusted to dress myself sensibly for the occasion, even work, who am I to ask about any sort of fashion advice.
Even in my tuxedo with all the trimmings, shiny shoes and so on (except a cummerbund as with my big belly I think it looked silly - or will until I lose more of my gut) I feel and look like a bouncer no matter what the event or occasion.
The intro to the article:
There are those men, the vast majority of them, who see tees as a wardrobe staple that is appropriate for nearly every occasion, and can be worn with little to no thought. (my comment - that’s me.)
Then there are the traditionalists, small in number, but vocal, who feel t-shirts are utterly juvenile and sloppy-looking, and should never be worn outside a gym or away from the beach.
I’d like to suggest a middle path: t-shirts as a classic, versatile piece of clothing appropriate to wear on some occasions, but not others. Allow me also to suggest that even if t-shirts constitute a simple staple of one’s wardrobe, there are ways to wear them better, and worse.
Today we’ll cover the ins and outs of this stylish, common sense approach to the tee, and explore how, when, and where to rock one. Welcome to the best damn guide to men’s t-shirts on the internet.

But then I do have some taste, and for once Mrs Awkward agreed which surprised me immensely, I had my motorcycle jacket - a handmade made-to-my-size replica of the 1947 Indian Ranger and matching trousers - from these guys:

And it matches my bike, the other love of my life - not to self “get it back on the road for next Spring:
It will outlast me that’s for sure - had it since 2006, misused it including falling off the motorbike on the M6 at speed in a torrential downpour after hitting a diesel patch and it didn’t even scratch. Worth the money.
Addendum:
Mrs Awkward has pointed out to me I haven’t shown a picture of her “baby” so in the interests of fairness and to keep her off my back moaning here is her “Little Bertha’ to match my “Big Bertha”.
When she had just taken delivery we get a telephone call one evening from the US.
Turns out it was the chief design engineer for her bike calling from Spirit Lake in Iowa and as she was the first woman in the UK to have one and she had a special made brake pedal a lot shorter than stock plus some other modifications (including taking my screen then getting me to source a complete one from the US as mine then “looked wrong”) so she could ride it more easily he had “just called to see how she was enjoying the bike?”.
What a nice surprise that was.
You don’t get that service from many companies do you?
Also means now I’ve just doubled the getting them back on the road budget as she wants her’s done as well.
Pity Polaris has decided to go with the Indian brand and did not continue Victory - my brain can understand the business reasons but the heart doesn’t.
Beautiful bikes. Thanks for stopping by my SS and providing the link.
