I have one on a bathroom window

If your house insurance is like our’s then if a window is left open and some little thieving towrag gets in and nicks some stuff then the insurance won’t pay up.

But our bathroom gets all steamed up and with the window closed all day when we are out the room goes mouldy.

Bit of a catch 22 situation - close the window and get mould but be covered on the insurance or leave it open, no mould but no insurance cover.

So I found these things:

Now we can leave the window open and be fully covered on with the insurance.

Also good if you live in a less than salubrious neighbourhood and want to leave a main door/conservatory/patio/balcony door open to get some air through the house or flat but dare not risk it - fix one to the door and all good.

Enough of a gap for the air circulation, secure as it cannot be removed or broken easily (unless you leave the key in it of course) but a gap not big enough for the thieving towrags unless they are using a small, young child like Fagin.
