World's best salad dressing
as voted for in an unbiased contest with just my salad dressing entered and me as the judge - at least I'm more honest than Gov about it being fixed
3 parts olive oil/sunflower oil/rapeseed oil/garlic infused olive oil
1 part cider/white vinegar
1 part lemon juice (from a bottle is fine)
1 part Colman’s English mustard powder
sugar
fine ground sea salt
fresh ground black pepper
Put all ingredients in a clean, small jar.
Put on lid and shake vigorously until well mixed and turning thick.
Check that it tastes good - your taste buds are different than mine so up to you but to make a good dressing, which is basically an emulsion, a ratio of 3 to 4 parts oil to 1 to 1.5 parts acid (vinegar) is best for the consistency.
The flavourings are up to you. Some dried green herbs such as thyme, basil, marjoram etc can be added if you want.
Good for putting on fresh green salads, dipping lettuce leaves/raw carrot/raw broccoli etc in.
Spread on some crusty bread instead of butter and make a beef sandwich is another good use.
Will keep in a fridge for quite a while.
Another us is for potato salad:
heat through a tin of new potatoes or cook until just cooked some small new potatoes wth the skin on
drain and put into a bowl
while still hot add a few spoons of the salad dressing and mix well to coat all potatoes.
leave to get cold
stir again
mix in your favourite mayonnaise to cover the potatoes well
add some chopped spring onions/red onions for crunch
serve with a steak and some fresh crusty bread
Came for the lipid nanoparticles. Stayed for the salad dressing.
Sounds delish, but SEED OILS WTF
Seed oils are Satan's fake food, stick with EVOO
