IT's because our government are all apparently amazing 'seers'. They can 'see' that the world is coming to an end because of carbon dioxide too. Also the WHO declared a pandemic before the numbers meant there actually was one (and when I say numbers, I mean numbers of flu type symptoms). An the most glaring issue for me is how the bunch of numpties that lord it over us managed to produce the detailed legislation of the Corona Act with SIs attached etc. and organise all the bs and the tiers of lockdowns that the rules and guidance that went with it, furlough etc all in the space of a few weeks of the chaos they had previously been in during brexit. Normally it takes them 10 years to do one enquiry and about five years to work out what a law is, let alone how to draft it. It stinks and if anybody can't see that then they need stronger glasses. THere are similar issues to be explained in the USA too regarding their magically produced legislation.
